Position Summary:
Altamira is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer responsible for a critical space mission processing system architecture. The architecture encompasses DOD mission environments, processing applications, on premises compute environments, commercial cloud environments, infrastructure monitoring and control, continuous integration and delivery pipelines and common processing software services to support ingesting mission data, mission support data and distributing mission data and products. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and integration and delivery of complex systems that meet mission requirements. As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will guide multidisciplinary and multi-contractor teams through the systems engineering lifecycle, ensuring that all components work together seamlessly to achieve operational objectives.
 
Key Responsibilities:
· System Design and Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of complex systems, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and mission goals.
· Requirements Management: Gather, analyze, and define system requirements, ensuring traceability throughout the development process.
· Integration and Testing: Oversee system integration and testing activities, ensuring that all components function together as intended.
· Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
· Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders, communicating progress, challenges, and solutions effectively.
· Risk Management: Identify and assess risks associated with system development and implement mitigation strategies.
· Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
· Continuous Improvement: Promote best practices in systems engineering, continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement.
 
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in STEM focused discipline; Master’s preferred.
· 8+ years of systems engineering experience, particularly in defense or intelligence systems.
· Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices, including model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools.
· Proficient in requirements management, systems integration, and compliance standards (e.g., MIL-STD).
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with critical thinking ability.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
· Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Management, or Ground Systems, and on large government software contracts.
· Skilled in process development and deployment in Agile DevSecOps environments, collaborating with Software, Integration, and Verification teams.
· Familiarity with requirements tools (e.g., DOORS) and programming languages such as MATLAB and Python.
· Proficient in SysML and Cameo.
· Experience in the missile warning / missile tracking mission processing domain
· Experience with multi site mission processing systems.
· Desired experience with ITW/AA and other missile warning certifications.
· Experience with mission system integration in a technical role from design through development and fielding to operations.
 

In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for these positions is $150,000 to $225,000.  However, Altamira Technologies Corporation considers multiple variables when determining compensation, including but not limited to, the level of responsibilities, prior work experience, education/certifications, customer contractual specifications, and any clearance requirements.
